4 Morning hikes!


Hike 1 - Barre Falls Dam to Route 122 in Rutland
Start Time: 9:30 AM
Start Location: Route 122 parking area in Rutland.
Directions to Start: From Route 31 in Paxton Center, go west on Route 122 about 7 miles. Meet at the MST trail head and rail trail parking area on Route 122 in Rutland about 1.2 miles north of the Rutland State Park boat launch area on White Hall Pond. We will shuttle hikers to the south end picnic area of Barre Falls Dam and hike south through the Quabbin watershed. Limit to 15 hikers. Terrain is mostly gentle and rolling.

Hike 2 - Sibley Farm/Audubon Preserve. A Non-Hikers Gentle Walk in the Woods
Start Time: 11:00 AM
Start Location: 116 Greenville Street, Spencer, 01562
Directions to start: Meet at the Sibley Farm Conservation parking area on Greenville Street in Spencer. Hikers will be shuttled to the intersection of East Charlton Road and Capen Road in Spencer. Walk back to Sibley Farm
Hike Length: 2.8 miles

Hike 3 - Ware River & Savage Hill
Start time: 9:00 AM
Start Location: Gates Road off Route 62 at the “Town Hayfield", Princeton
Shuttle to Intervale Road/Route 68 in Rutland and walk north through Savage Hill area, across roads then over Ware River on pedestrian bridge, through conservation woodland and into town hayfield back to kiosk.
Hike length: about 4.5 miles

Hike 4 - Burncoat Pond / Sibley Farm
Start Time: 12:30 PM
Start Location: Route 9, Spencer Country Club
Directions to Start: Meet at the Sibley Farm Conservation parking area on Greenville Street in Spencer. Hikers will be shuttled to the Spencer Country Inn on the Spencer/Leicester line. Hike back to Sibley Farm.
Length: approximately 2.25 miles
